Position Overview

This position in the Land, Catchment and Approvals team provides a variety of environmental planning and heritage services to support the delivery of a wide range of capital and non-capital projects.

A snapshot of your day

As our Environmental Planning Practitioner, you’ll:

  • Provide specialised advice to support project managers and others on environmental and heritage issues.
  • Ensure environmental and heritage (Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal) issues and approvals are adequately addressed throughout project life cycles.
  • Prepare and review project briefs, reports and applications for approval as required.
  • Advise on how the business can protect and enhance the natural environment both on projects and through ongoing operations.
  • Facilitate increased environmental awareness, knowledge and skills within the organisation.

Skills & Experience

  • Detailed knowledge and experience in ecological assessment and biodiversity offsetting.
  • Detailed knowledge of the environmental legislation, regulations, and frameworks that relate to planning approvals and biodiversity in Victoria.
  • A strong understanding of the Victorian statutory planning system.
  • Registration as a Vegetation Quality Assessor (desirable).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or Statutory Planning.

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4 ($93,548   - $118,209 pro rata, plus superannuation) salary range will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with their skills and experience...
