The opportunity

This role is a critical position within BirdLife Australia as it will develop and deliver a portfolio of conservation projects aimed at preventing the extinction of highly imperilled birds, ensuring the effective implementation and evaluation of BirdLife Australia’s Bird Conservation Strategy, in conjunction with the Terrestrial Birds Team Managers and the Conservation and Science team.

To be successful, it is essential you are a motivated self-starter who is able to plan and manage your own work, and that of your team, proactively, together with demonstrated experience working collaboratively with multiple project partners.  You will also need an undergraduate degree in conservation biology, environmental science, or a related field with at least two years’ experience in the science or environmental sector.  A PhD in conservation biology, environmental science or a related field is highly desirable, as is the demonstrable knowledge of conservation issues and challenges facing native birds.

This is a full-time, ongoing position. The location of this role is flexible (BirdLife Australia's National Office is in Carlton, Victoria).
