The opportunity

This role will coordinate BirdLife Australia’s HPAI’s taskforce, supporting preparedness, response and mitigation across the entire organisation including through our science, data and expert knowledge base, strategic preparedness and response.  It will raise and facilitate key information and communications to a range of stakeholders, community and volunteers, and contribute to effective response efforts that enable protection and conservation of important sites and species.  The role will also ensure best practice OHS is applied throughout our networks of staff and volunteers and at the sites we manage.

To be successful, it is essential that you have deep experience working with multiple stakeholders, committees and community.  You will also need experience developing training materials and communication products, with an understanding of centralised data gathering and management systems.  The requirements for this role are very specific.  Please refer to the position description for a full view of the essential and desirable criteria.

What you need to know 

This is a part-time position and short-term contract initially (0.6 or 0.8 FTE- negotiable).  The position is preferably based in Victoria in the National Office in Carlton.  Alternative locations will be considered based on strategic merit.

Applicants must possess corresponding work rights to be eligible for appointment and a current national police check (NPC) (or willingness to obtain).
