Salary etc:

$60,000 - $80,000 p.a. + super.

Hi there!

We are Dirty. Here’s a bit about us:

  • We plant plants. Dirty is a planting company. We plant many, many plants for landscaping and forestry clients all around Australia. Big plants, little plants, all kinds of plants.
  • We’re obsessed with what we do. No, seriously, we’re in love with it. Most people think of planting as lowly, menial labour. But to us, it’s an adventure with huge opportunity.
  • We’re planter focused. Dirty is a planter-owned, planter-run business. 100% planters, zero corporate overlords. We know there is no such thing as a monopoly on good ideas and that people are more productive when they’re given agency to make change.

We’re looking for a Field Supervisor and maybe that person is you. We’re offering a salary of $60,000- 80,000 plus super.

You’ll be in charge of hiring, managing, and assisting your team to install millions of plants and other landscape services for our clients.

Here what we absolutely need you to be:

  • Jack/Jill of all trades. Greatly experienced with high-production install of all things landscaping. You understand and can install erosion control materials, plant support and protection devices. You have installed plants of every size, into every type of site and you can mentor others to do the same.
  • Big picture thinker. Familiar with start to finish requirements of landscaping sites, including construction of garden beds, fertilising, watering, and maintenance periods.
  • And yet, detail obsessed. Mastery of executing landscape architect drawings across a variety of sites including revegetation, wetland planting, feature gardens, and rail and highway infrastructure projects.
  • Bombadil-esque. High level of knowledge regarding Australian plant species including visual id, habitat selection, and an aesthetic sensibility.
  • Nursery mates. You should be able to order and accept plant deliveries, identify unhealthy and unsuitable plants, and store large quantities of plants while making sure you’re meeting their nutritional and environmental needs
  • Front of the pack. Demonstratable leadership skills and extensive experience in logistics and operations. You’ve hired and managed crews of 15 or more and have data to back up your ability to drive production
  • Drivers Licence, White Card, Asbestos Awareness (10675nat)

And here’s what would put you over the finish line:

  • Planter at heart. International exposure to silviculture planting or similar experience. Canadian forestry planting is in our roots and informs everything we do, so we need you to understand it.
  • High-production planter. Ideally you have a personal best of 7,000 plants in a single day or more. On a very good day...maybe give or take a few thousand.
  • Administrative abilities. Proficient in Excel, Word, and cloud-based services.
  • Familiar with safety requirements, particularly of large civil construction sites. Keep yourself and your team safe.
  • People person. You’ll be able to keep clients happy under time constrictions and deadlines.
