Clarence City Council, in Southern Tasmania, is transforming with the municipality and our workforce is growing and evolving. We’re seeking an Environment and Biodiversity Engagement Officer to develop, coordinate and implement the Environment Engagement program at Council. Reporting to the Team Leader Environment and Biodiversity, this role will maximise the efforts of volunteer groups working in Clarence natural areas, while driving education and partnerships for key environmental issues.

About you

  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Conservation and Land Management, Community Engagement, and/or an equivalent, with relevant experience delivering community participation programs in natural areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination roles (preferably with volunteers coupled with experience in natural area management and bush regeneration techniques).
  • Successful experience in working with marketing and engagement teams to develop appropriate materials and programs associated with natural area management and bush regeneration.
  • Understanding of work health and safety practices and relevant legislation as it applies to natural area management and bush regeneration and the management of volunteers.

The role is full-time and ongoing. A base salary between $75,071.65 and $86,731.41 will be offered to the preferred candidate + 12.5% superannuation.
