We are looking for people with skills in experience in the field of Natural Resource Management, Heavy Equipment Operations, and General day to day Operations to be part of our team of Rangers working alongside the traditional owners of K’gari, the Butchulla People.

Our rangers ensure that the Queensland’s national parks, state forests and reserves are protected, accessible and valued by all Queenslanders. We work in partnership with the traditional owners of K’gari, the Butchulla People, local communities and other stakeholders to contribute to the land management, recreational and conservation outcomes across the protected areas. Our work can be challenging - important work usually is, but your contribution will count, and so will you.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about conservation, land management and working collaboratively. Your planning and communication skills will be key in juggling and meeting competing priorities, while your ability to motivate and influence your team will be the key to achieving outcomes in a busy and changing environment. To be successful in the role, you will also have:

  • Ability to build sustainable relationships with the traditional owners of K'gari, the Butchulla People, and key stakeholders in management planning.
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to coordinate and facilitate workshops comprised of various stakeholder groups.
  • High level writing and data presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage projects relating to print and online web content associated with safety, sustainable visitation, and conservation messaging.
  • Strong problem solving and resolution skills.
  • High level of resilience in dealing with competing priorities, emergency response and living in a remote location.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to an inclusive, diverse and respectful workplace.
