Be part of an experienced, passionate and dedicated Natural Resource Management Team that helps to deliver on Darebin Council’s commitment to the protection and enhancement of biodiversity values and natural assets across the municipality.

  • Permanent, full time (fortnightly RDO)
  • Salary - $74,900 plus super ($41.1 p/h; 35-hour week)
  • Flexible working arrangements (Consideration given to job sharing, flexible hours, part work from home, accommodation of family commitments, school hours etc).

About the Role

  • Contribute to the protection, maintenance, monitoring and enhancement of Darebin's creek corridors and conservation reserves.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational works planning.
  • Undertake chemical, mechanical and manual weed control activities.
  • Implement various works pertaining to ecological restoration
  • Assist in daily works preparation including suitable equipment, PPE and planning.
  • Participate in community engagement and consultation.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in natural resource management (or related discipline) and relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of indigenous flora, fauna and weed species relevant to Darebin and ecological management processes.
  • Experience in the use of machinery, tools and equipment applicable to Natural Resource Management.
  • Chemical Users Certificate and ACUP.
