You will be responsible for:

  • Designing, planning and coordinating teams to conduct investigations and prepare technical reports:
    • Principal Ecologist - impact assessments, ecological surveys, monitoring, biocondition assessments, weed surveys and protected plant surveys.
    • Principal Environmental Advisor - environmental audits, site investigations, environmental monitoring and sampling, ESG and sustainability.
  • Working with our clients to ensure their developments and operations are minimising their impacts and implementing remediation and rehabilitation programs.
  • Working with CQG's team of professionals throughout Queensland to deliver high quality services to our clients.
  • Building on the strong relationships we have with our existing clients.
  • Identifying and fostering new client networks to build our  Queensland practice.
  • Mentoring your team and work closely with staff in other offices.
  • Integrating into existing projects and deliver technical support in your area of expertise (ecology or environmental science).
  • Working with CQG's management team to identify opportunities for growth and delivering new services.
  • Leading projects in your area of expertise.
  • Preparing project scopes and budgets.
  • Working with our UAV/USV/ GIS teams to capture and manage data in innovative ways.

Essential Experience and Attributes

  • Tertiary qualifications in ecology, biology, environmental science, sustainability or environmental engineering.
  • A passion for the environment and regional Queensland.
  • Leadership and business building skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent research / investigation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, and a strong commitment for client satisfaction.
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated time management, data management and organisational skills.
  • Proactive in approach and ability to take initiative to put forward solutions.
  • Passionate about learning, professional development and seeking out new technologies and opportunities; 
  • Strong commitment to data and document management backed with solid practical experience.
  • Willingness to roll your sleeves up and have a go.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Able to work effectively within a team environment and to work independently.
  • High standards in ensuring a positive workplace and Work Health and Safety culture.
  • Track record working collaboratively to achieve outcomes and deadlines.
  • Experienced in budget preparation and delivery of projects.

Desirable Experience

  • At least ten years experience in ecology, environmental science, natural resource management or statutory planning and approvals.
  • Working in a consulting or client service delivery environment.
  • Experience with data collection, assessments and reporting.
  • Field experience working in remote areas.
