About the role

This position manages and coordinates a structured, peer-to-peer knowledge network and community of practice to support Indigenous women working for healthy Country. The role will support the growth and journey of the network to strengthen women rangers' career pathways, provide more avenues for women from different ranger teams to work together and share knowledge, increase opportunities for women to gather on Country to support each other and make their voices heard and ultimately bring benefits to Country and people. The role will be responsible for meeting the highest standards of Indigenous community collaboration.

The position will work closely with Indigenous partner organisations. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Accountabilities (Refer to Person Description for full list of Key Accountabilities):

  • Partners with key Indigenous organisations and other stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of a national women's environmental network and community of practice to support the goals of Indigenous women caring for Country.
  • Project management including project design, reporting, budgets, monitoring and evaluation of conservation and social impact.
  • Engages and collaborates with Indigenous women's groups to review project design, needs, opportunities, and interests in local partnership agreements to foster true partnership and meet WWF-s Inclusive conservation standards.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience (Refer to Person Description for full list of Selection Criteria):

  • An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with particular insight and understanding of the needs and challenges faced by Indigenous women.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people within in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in Natural Resource Management and its interface with the roles, needs and challenges of Indigenous women working on country.
