About the Role

We have some great ecological restoration projects that are both large scale and long term and so we are seeking Bush Regenerators in Central Queensland, specifically across Rockhampton and Gladstone.

You will contribute to the recovery of a range of sites containing a diversity of ecosystem types. You will have the opportunity to apply a range of restoration approaches within old growth ecosystems. The aim of ecological restoration projects is to restore the health, integrity, diversity and resilience of vegetation and habitat. You will be directly linked with this process by applying regular weed control while also carrying out other tasks such as planting.

If you are interested in completing a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) while gaining on ground experience and training from experts in the field, Ecosure is the place for you!

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A passion for ecological restoration and the environment.
  • A high level of physical fitness and experience working outdoors in hot temperatures.
  • A commitment to safe work practices and a willingness to promote Ecosure's safety culture.
  • Strong Central Queensland plant identification skills - native and exotic across a range of ecosystems.
  • Manual drivers licence and a personal vehicle.
  • Clear communication and a willingness to use mobile phone or email for work related communication.
  • Exposure to applying weed control techniques.
  • Knowledge of how and when to apply a range of different ecological restoration approaches.
  • Moderate experience with and knowledge of herbicides.
  • Safe handling knowledge of tools and heavy equipment.

Overall, the following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:

  • First Aid/CPR.
  • Chainsaw ticket.
  • Chemcert or ACDC certification.
  • 4WD experience or training.
  • MR licence.
  • Previous experience working on a mine or construction site and thorough understanding of safety procedures required.
  • Experience working in and navigating around remote working areas.
