We cater to a diverse clientele, supplying a range of customers including councils, local governments, landscapers, schools, community groups, and revegetation projects.

The Role

An exciting opportunity now exists to lead our team in this hands-on Nursery Manager role where you will oversee the nursery operations as we contribute to the success of our commercial landscaping projects. This will include:

  • Manage all aspects of the nursery operations, including plant procurement, inventory management, and maintenance of nursery facilities.
  • Supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Actively collect plant material for propagation and tubing.
  • Collaborate with the various departments across LCS, providing horticultural support and advice, coordinate plant selection and delivery for projects.
  • Monitor plant health and quality, implementing pest control and disease management strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and expenses, and prepare reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for nursery operations.

About You:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a nursery management or similar role.
  • Extensive skills and experience in horticultural, plant identification and pest & disease identification.
  • Staff management experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Customer-service focused as well as strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented with good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Seed & plant material collecting permit (desirable or willing to attain).
