About the role

Reporting to the Area Manager this role is integral to the delivery of Trust for Nature’s projects in North East Victoria. The role delivers, monitors and evaluates projects that achieve strategic biodiversity outcomes. This role will be responsible for the delivery of multiple projects including management of a small team to deliver strategic projects across North East Victoria.

This role offers a full-time base salary of $86,242 - $92,790p.a., plus superannuation. The offer made will be commensurate with experience.

This is a 12-month fixed term full time position (open to part-time 0.6 to 1.0 FTE). The role is based in the North East Area of Victoria, with regular travel to the office in Wangaratta, and through the North East and Goulburn Broken catchments required.

About you

We are searching for someone who is experienced in leading projects. The successful candidate will come with;

  • At least 5 years of experience working in the environmental sector.
  • Degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or similar/ relevant experience
  • Understanding of conservation principles and practices, including legislation, and knowledge of Victorian Ecological Vegetation Classes, flora and fauna.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including managing risks and budgets, and writing reports.
  • Experience supporting staff to deliver projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing reports and communicating project outcomes to multiple audiences via a range of techniques (e.g. presentations, reports).
  • Demonstrated experience building stakeholder relationships with agency partners, Traditional Owners, conservation organisations, and community groups.
