The theme for the 2019 conference is ‘A National Call to Action: Making Australia Flood Safe’, which will focus on bringing together various partners and sharing of great research and ideas to set a clear and compelling vision, mission and priorities for the flood community of Australia.

We are looking for a range of high-quality presentations from across Australia and overseas dealing with riverine, overland and flash flooding, coastal inundation, emergency response and community engagement.

The content can be technical or non-technical to suit our varied audience, so you don’t need to be a “flood expert” to present at the conference. Tertiary students studying floodplain management or natural disaster management are particularly encouraged to participate.

  • Flood prediction and warning
  • Land use planning
  • Infrastructure projects
  • Climate adaptation
  • Flood policy, guidance and best practice
