About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Senior Project Leader with experience in both pest animal control and indigenous vegetation management.

The role will be based primarily from our Whittlesea and Melbourne depots. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing, planning and implementing multiple pest animal control and environmental management projects across the greater Melbourne region.

Duties will include and are not limited to:

  • Leading crews on site.
  • Spot lighting, baiiting, CPE set ups, signage set ups and assistance with shooting works.
  • Development of Pest Animal Control Plans
  • Managing a small team of direct reports.
  • Some remote travel required.
  • Scheduling out pest animal control works in conjucnction with other Project Managers.
  • Client liaison and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitoring of budgets, and
  • Reporting to clients and management.

You will be expected to instil a culture of excellence within your crew, achieve exceptional standards of work in the field, and maintain a safe and productive work environment at all times.

You will need the following qualifications, experience and skills as a minimum:

  • Minimum 3 years in the Conservation Land Management industry.
  • Experience with pest animal control techniques, with a strong commitment to safety and animal welfare.
  • Weed and indigenous plant identification skills in Victorian floral communities.
  • Commitment to excellence and best practice land management, including:
    1. Proven knowledge of humane pest animal control techniques
    2. Proven knowledge of weed control techniques and herbicides, and
    3. Proven knowledge of various revegetation techniques.
  • Proven ability to prioritise multiple projects and tasks with the demands of competing deadlines,
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills,
  • Proven autonomy and team management skills,
  • Strong adherence to OHS principles and practices,
  • High level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access,
  • Moderate to high level of physical fitness.

Training and Licences:

  • Minimum Cert III CLM qualification (or equivalent in industry experience).
  • Essential - Current Manual Victorian Car Licence.
  • Essential - ChemCert and ACUP with PAPP/1080 Endorsement
  • Essential - Senior First Aid (Level 2).
  • Essential - Chainsaw - Operate and Maintain Chainsaws.
  • Essential - Construction Induction Card.
  • Desirable - Medium Rigid truck licence.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
