About the Role:

The Senior Ecological Modeller undertakes quantitative ecological modelling and data analyses, and provides professional ecological advice and services to inform environmental decision making in South Australia. The role develops and maintains strong partnerships both within and outside the Agency, to inform planning, implementation and evaluation of DEW policy and programs that require ecological input. The role requires a sound and broad understanding of applied conservation and restoration ecology and prioritisation. The role also undertakes priority environmental projects and analyses as required.

Contract: Contract for up to 12 months.

Essential Criteria (including qualifications):

  • A degree in environment, conservation or related Natural Resource Management discipline, and relevant higher qualification(s) or extensive relevant discipline experience is essential.
  • A current class “C” driver's licence and willingness to undertake 4wd training is essential.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.

A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months. This information must be supplied by all applicants who are shortlisted for interview.

Remuneration: PO3 $108,087 min - $115,936 max p.a.
