The Role

This exciting opportunity will develop your knowledge as a Forester by working in diverse roles like Silviculture (growing and tending the plantations), Fire, GIS and Planning, and Harvest.

Our two-year Graduate Program will enable your transition from university to a career in Forestry. You will gain an in-depth overview of our business by participating in a diverse learning pathway.  You will be provided with valuable on-the-job experiences, skills training and access to mentoring from leaders in their fields.

Based in Churchill, Gippsland - one of Victoria’s key forestry regions - you’ll be embedded in our regional team and gain exposure to the work that keeps one of Australia’s largest private timber plantation estates moving. 

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Graduated in a relevant science-based discipline (such as Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, GIS, Agriculture, etc.) 
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your skills
  • Flexibility to live and work regionally in Gippsland and travel throughout Victoria
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining good staff, contractor and business relationships
  • An ability to self-motivate and work hard
  • Excellent communication, listening & problem-solving skills 
  • Experience in collaborating and working with teams of various skills and backgrounds
  • Data analysis, modelling, statistics and interpretation would be well regarded

  • A current Australian Driver’s License is mandatory for this position.
  • Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant will be expected to be able to bend, lift manageable weights and traverse rough terrain on foot.
