Gambara is a majority owned Indigenous company formed in 2018 to provide project management, environmental services and revegetation works. Gambara delivers services to the mining, oil and gas, state government, local government and private sectors.

About the role

Join Gambara’s growing Field Technician team and be part of delivering large-scale revegetation, landscaping, and weed control projects across Perth and regional WA. This is a hands-on, physically active role working outdoors in all conditions, where you’ll contribute to native planting, seeding, weed control, and general land maintenance. It’s a great opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy practical work, take pride in improving natural environments, and want to be part of a fast-growing, Indigenous-owned organisation.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Native plant and tree planting
• Seeding
• Weed control
• General landscaping maintenance
• Mowing and whipper snipping
• Brush cutting
• Pruning
• Hardscape maintenance
• Natural area maintenance

Essential Criteria:

• Full working rights in Australia
• Knowledge of common Perth weeds and native flora species
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• Hold a Pest Management Technician Licence
• Relevant chemical application units, such as:
  • AHCPMG301 - Control Weeds
  • AHCCHM307 - Prepare and Apply Chemicals
  • AHCCHM304 - Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals
    (Commonly included in Certificate III qualifications in Horticulture, Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Pest Management, or Weed Management, or through accredited training providers)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Reliable with a strong work ethic

Desirable:

• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Previous experience in landscaping, planting, or weed control
