Primary objective
Provide leadership, service coordination and facilitate integration of universal and targeted child and family services within the Child and Family Centre. Provide leadership in the facilitation of comprehensive program integration across other multiple stakeholders not directly managed including coordinating a governance group of local stakeholders to engage all sections of the community in decision-making processes. Provide leadership for the operational aspects of the Manayingkarirra Child and Family Centre including overseeing the effective functioning of the FaFT, Crèche, and Preschool programs while ensuring compliance with the National Quality Standards (NQS).

The Manayingkarirra Child and Family Centre strives to build a high quality integrated early childhood services system that meets the needs of young children and families and gives every child the best start in life. Working with the community, the position is to ensure services are streamlined, complementary, working towards, and achieving improved outcomes for children and their families.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide leadership and day-to-day management of the operational aspects of Manayingkarirra Child and Family Centre, including FaFT, Crèche, and Preschool, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Standards (NQS) and utilising the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Take responsibility for effective leadership and management, integrating quality early childhood and parenting services within the Manayingkarirra Child and Family Centre, Preschool, and FaFT.
- Lead capacity building and professional learning for Indigenous staff by managing and facilitating ongoing collaborative training and professional development within the centre, Preschool, FaFT, and the Crèche.
- Monitor program initiatives and staff performance to ensure efficient resource management and achievement of program objectives, and provide comprehensive reports to the Maningrida College Principal.
- Collaborate with principals and the business manager to oversee the centre's finances, aligning them with the school's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs throughout the Child and Family Centre.
- Develop and manage a reference group of local stakeholders to engage the community in decision-making processes for early childhood and parenting programs.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders and clients, including school management and staff, regarding integrating early childhood education and care programs.
Selection criteria
Essential
- Proven leadership experience in strategic, operational and financial planning, innovation and capacity building of teams within complex service environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, national policy issues associated with the education sector and Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and an understanding of their application at the local level
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with Indigenous staff, children, families through trauma-informed practices and an understanding of the challenges faced by families in remote communities
- Proven ability to work autonomously, make independent decisions aligned with College and CFC vision and goals and drive improved program outcomes.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage and coordinate a range of multidisciplinary teams supporting children and families through effective program planning, delivery and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate effective conflict management skills when dealing with staff, students, families, and parents.
Desirable
- Registered or ability to register with Teachers Registration Board of the Northern Territory, and with recognised early childhood qualification or substantial current knowledge and experience in this field.
- Possess Cert 4 in training and assessment.
