Nukunu Wapma Thura Aboriginal Corporation is seeking motivated and committed individuals to join the Nukunu Wanypatha Yarta (Good Country) Ranger Team.
Working on Nukunu Country, Rangers play a vital role in caring for Country, protecting cultural sites and supporting Nukunu knowledge for future generations.
Position Details
- Part-time roles based in Port Augusta, with regular work on Nukunu Country and surrounding areas
- On-Country work including outdoor and field-based activities
- Participation in training and development opportunities
- Work may include on-Country days, fieldwork and occasional travel, depending on program activities
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Ranger Team to support delivery of on-Country activities
- Help care for Country, including land, water, heritage and culture
- Undertake land management activities such as weed control, revegetation and conservation works
- Support protection of biodiversity, including managing impacts from weeds, feral animals and land use
- Participate in cultural activities, including cultural burning and knowledge sharing
- Assist with care of waterways and significant sites across Country
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Support recording of activities and outcomes
About You
We are looking for people who:
- Have a connection to Country and an interest in caring for land and culture
- Are reliable, motivated and willing to work as part of a team
- Enjoy working outdoors and are comfortable working on Country
- Are willing to learn and participate in training
Can follow instructions and work safely
Essential Requirements
- Hold a current Driver’s Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Willingness to complete required checks (e.g. Police Check, Working with Children Check)
- Ability to work on Country, including outdoor conditions and travel
