What You'll Be Doing

As our project pipeline continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Botanist  to join our Perth team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of impactful  projects and help deliver innovative environmental management and conservation solutions for our  clients. With continued growth across the renewables, resources, and conservation sectors, this role  offers excellent scope to make a meaningful contribution and develop your career. 

The role will involve providing expert advice to clients, supporting them in meeting their obligations  for flora and vegetation assessments, monitoring, and rehabilitation objectives in accordance with  State and Commonwealth guidelines, identifying business opportunities, contributing to work-winning  initiatives, and managing projects and budgets.

What You’ll Bring

This role will allow you to combine your passion for botany and ecology, environmental management,  legislative knowledge, and well-developed writing and project management skills to create high quality  work and great outcomes for our clients and the environment.  

You will play a crucial role in guiding and coordinating botanical and ecological projects, ensuring that  environmental goals are met efficiently and effectively, provide expert knowledge and leadership to  the team, foster collaboration, and ensure that scientific and regulatory standards are upheld.  

To be successful, you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Botany/Ecology or related discipline. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ working as a Botanist or related discipline (within Western Australia). Strong working knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental  legislation. 
  • Strong Western Australian flora species identification skills. 
  • Experience planning and undertaking ecological fieldwork, including detailed and targeted  flora and vegetation surveys. 
  • Previous ecological consulting experience. 
  • Experience with GIS and mobile data collection would be advantageous 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality  reports and assessments. 
  • Demonstrated experience in project and budget management.  
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic consulting environment
