We’re seeking a passionate and experienced leader to drive our biodiversity agenda, champion positive environmental outcomes, and ensure our impact is clearly measured and reported.

The Role:

We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Biodiversity Lead to join our Sustainability & Environment team based in Perth’s CBD.  

Please note that this role will involve frequent day and overnight travel to some of our WA sites.

As our Biodiversity Lead, you’ll champion plant diversity across working lands, shaping strategies that strengthen ecosystems, support productive agriculture, and build resilience from the ground up. This role is for someone who understands that native vegetation, healthy crops, grazing and thriving farms are inseparable - and who is motivated to translate ecological knowledge into practical, landscape-scale impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement extension programs and services designed to assist teams on property to enhance productivity, profitability and sustainability.
  • Maintain monitoring scheduling and coordinate sampling regime.
  • Assist and coordinate with property managers for ongoing program monitoring.
  • Actively engage and manage program expectations with external, internal stakeholders and assist in eliminating roadblocks.
  • Act as the point of contact for program activities.
  • Provide sustainability leadership and technical advice in relation to biodiversity. 
  • Run project planning status meetings, site meetings and provide regular project updates to the leadership team.
  • Budget development, implementation and monitoring in line with HRG budgeting process.
  • Traveling to site to coordinate and monitor projects through the entire program lifecycle.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualified or applied experience in a commercial or technical discipline related to Environmental Science, Terrestrial Ecology, Marine Biology, Environmental Management, Agricultural science or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at a wide range of understanding.
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written.
  • Good understanding of vegetation, soil and landscape ecology.
  • Highly developed data collection, manage data bases, analytical skills and the ability to present complex issues.
  • A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work remotely (field work), autonomously, problem solve and work with ambiguity. 
  • Hold a current driver’s licence.
