About Conservation & Pest Management

Operating within the Parks & Recreation branch, the Conservation & Pest Management team is a dynamic and focused group that manages Council's bushland parks and assists in prescribed burning operations. The team also has general responsibility for the control of invasive plants on Council roads, maintenance of invasive animal fences, and for the delivery of other invasive plant and animal programs and projects. Working throughout the Region, individual teams are responsible for different tasks, and also work together to assist each other, with a strong culture of collaboration and support.

About the position

The Ranger position will deliver all maintenance tasks, natural resource management, recreation management, and visitor management (including campgrounds) associated with the day-to-day running of Council’s bushland park estate.  They may also be called upon to assist other operational areas including undertaking control/surveillance programs for invasive restricted and prohibited matter (pest weeds and pest animals), repairs to pest barrier fencing, processing of wild dog bounties, and wild dog/fox baiting programs.

This position will work under remote supervision.

  • The base wage rate for this position is $1,298.72 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
