Hinterland Bush Links runs a dynamic not-for-profit environmental program with a vision for the long-term conservation of all native plants and animals in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Our strategy is to protect, restore and connect fragmented vegetation with wildlife corridors so that native animals and plants can access more habitat and adapt to climate change.

Governance and Team

Hinterland Bush Links is governed by a volunteer Management Committee who meet four to five times per year.

Our Current Programs

Roving Restorers - is our volunteer bush regeneration group.  We are funded through Sunshine Coast Council, other grants and donations.  Roving Restorers has been established for over 15 years.  In total we organise approximately 20 volunteer weeding/tree planting events each year on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and gain funding and outsource a further 20 volunteer weeding/tree planting days to Noosa Landcare. 

The program currently employs a part-time Project Officer and engages both paid contractors and volunteers in projects to restore and connect habitat and are looking to employ a part time Manager. The Manager is required to work with the Project Officer and the Management Committee to:

  • Promote the aims and achievements of Hinterland Bush Links to the broader community
  • Deliver effective on-ground projects to enhance habitat protection, restoration and connectivity outcomes
  • Build community capacity for habitat restoration including engagement with local Indigenous groups
  • Ensure Hinterland Bush Links functions within its financial means and to secure grants and funding from donors and other organisations
