Esperance is a beautiful coastal town with the most stunning coastal scenery with white beaches and turquoise waters. Esperance is a popular town for tourism and abounds in natural attractions including several National Parks and now the new South Coast Marine Park (SCMP).

We are currently seeking a Ranger (Marine) to join our new marine team that will be responsible for implementing 3 of the 4 management plans that make up the SCMP.

Under the immediate direction of the Senior Marine Ranger, this position:

  • Carries out programmed operational activities and field logistical support for the Wudjari, Western Bight and Mirning Marine Parks; including maintenance and servicing of facilities, visitor management, commercial operator liaison and the delivery of conservation programs as directed.
  • Assists in emergency response, marine fauna management and delivering education and interpretive programs.
  • Undertakes compliance patrols, maintains and skippers departmental vessels and upkeep of equipment.
  • Implements works programs consistent with departmental guidelines, policies and Marine Park Management Plans.
  • Participates in mentoring and guiding trainee rangers, contractors and volunteers, where required.
