Lead and coordinate a dispersed team managing parks, forests, fire, and pests. Ensure departmental assets and visitor infrastructure are maintained.
The primary focus of this role is managing Protected Areas (18,257 hectares), including Crows Nest and Ravensbourne National Parks, and State Forests (238,234 hectares) in the Inglewood and Moonie areas. A key priority is ensuring departmental assets and visitor infrastructure are maintained to a high standard.
The position leads a team of rangers responsible for the day-to-day management of parks and forests within the Southern Downs Management Unit. While the successful candidate will participate in general operational ranger activities, the primary focus will be on coordinating and overseeing daily management tasks and strategic projects.
Fire and pest management within State Forests is also a significant component of the role. As the Ranger in Charge (RIC), you will manage a team dispersed across Toowoomba and Inglewood.
