The Environmental Offsets - Planning, Monitoring and Research team is looking for a professional and motivated Assistant Director Monitoring and Evaluation to provide leadership to field ecologists and data experts. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of monitoring and evaluation of offsets and deliver enhanced restoration outcomes for the ACT.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:  

Mandatory:

• Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra 

Desirable: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Program Management, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management or other relevant fields.
• Knowledge of the ecology of the ACT and methods for surveying natural values.
• Willingness to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 31 August 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
