About the role
The Waterways Project Officer will support the development of the Regional Waterway Strategy (RWS). This will include drafting communications, both internal and external to the CMA, preparing content for the Strategy, engagement with community and stakeholders, administrative support, and reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will understand contemporary concepts in managing waterway and wetland values and understand key challenges and opportunities in waterway management. We are seeking a candidate with an understanding of Traditional Owners' cultural rights and responsibilities in waterway management.

You are a passionate and experienced Natural Resource Management professional with a strong foundation in waterway and wetland values. You bring a deep understanding of contemporary waterway management practices and the challenges and opportunities they present. You are committed to inclusive and respectful engagement, with a clear appreciation of Traditional Owners' cultural rights and responsibilities in managing waterways.
Your strengths lie in your ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver diverse projects efficiently. You are highly organised and thrive in collaborative environments. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders, negotiate effectively, and contribute positively to team dynamics.
