The nursery operates as a retail and wholesale outlet and is accredited with the NGIWA. As a Senior Nursery Technician you will join the staff and volunteers at Apace, who work collaboratively across all functions of the organisation. Your role includes plant propagation and supply, nursery maintenance, pest control, stock control, and customer relations. You will work alongside a dedicated team of trained horticulturalists and environmental scientists together with a diverse group of committed volunteers of all abilities.

We're looking for:

  • Qualifications in Horticulture and/or Conservation and Land Management and/or Environmental Science.
  • Prior experience and extensive knowledge in plant propagation, planting techniques and practices in a nursery setting (minimum 12 months).
  • Knowledge of the flora of Western Australia, in particular the Swan Coastal Plain and Darling Range.
  • Commitment to the environment.
  • Physically fit and capable of demanding outdoor work in different weather conditions.
  • Able to fit in with a small team and work independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think quickly and problem solve.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and volunteers.
  • Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.

It would also be great if you had any of the following:

  • Certificate in Work Health and Safety.

Our nursery team works on site on a rotating 9-day fortnight roster, regular hours are Monday-Friday 6:45am-3:30pm.
