About the opportunity

We are looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to join our Perth team and provide GIS support, mapping, and spatial analysis services to our environmental approvals, ecology, and bushfire projects.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of interesting projects, delivering innovative environmental and GIS solutions to our clients throughout WA and Australia.

Working within a team of GIS Analysts your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking data management, manipulation and visualisation for projects.
  • Managing and developing online content including web maps, dashboards and mobile data collection applications.
  • Preparing high quality maps and figures for reporting.
  • Providing advice and support on spatial concepts to teams with the wider ELA organisation.
  • Identifying innovative spatial techniques to assist our clients with problem solving and decision making.
  • Mentoring junior GIS Analysts.
  • Some field work may also be required.

About you

You will be tertiary qualified in GIS, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or another relevant degree with:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in remote sensing, particularly change detection.
  • Experience in a consulting environment preparing a range of high-quality reports such as ecological assessments, environmental monitoring, and conservation management plans.
  • Thorough working knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
  • Working knowledge of Planning for Bush Fire Protection guidelines, and the mapping requirements associated with them.
  • Ability to build and nurture internal and external relationships.
  • Experience providing GIS support across simultaneous projects and delivering outputs within budget and time deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A desire to mentor and share your genius with junior GIS Analysts.
