About the Role

Due to recent growth, we are seeking a motivated Project Manager to join our service delivery team and oversee the on-ground implementation of ecological works packages. This role is focused on delivering restoration projects that are guided by existing ecological management plans, primarily for local councils, government agencies, Defense, and civil infrastructure sectors. You will be responsible for managing multiple bushland sites, coordinating activities such as chemical weed control, natural regeneration, planting, and other ecological restoration techniques. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of bush regeneration best practices and a passion for delivering high-quality environmental outcomes.

The role requires the candidate to be based in South-East Queensland as site visits will be an integral part of the role.

Key areas may include:

  • Delivering small to large scale revegetation and assisted regeneration projects
  • Implementing restoration plans
  • Managing budgets, timeframes, and subcontractors for longer-term restoration projects
  • Drafting proposals, safety documentation, project delivery plans
  • Identifying and managing project risks including safety, timing and working with a range of stakeholders to complete the project on time. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least two years of experience working in a project manager role
  • Proven experience successfully delivering contracts worth six figures and above in value
  • Thorough understanding of contracts and how to administer them
  • Experience managing subcontractors and maximising the value of their contribution to the project
  • Demonstrated understanding of assessing and mitigating commercial risk
  • Experience applying project management tools and software
  • Knowledge on how to apply safety processes and embed a safety-conscious culture within project teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Relationship management skills including ability to establish rapport with project teams, suppliers, clients and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and a proactive approach to monitoring financial health and performance
  • The ability to solve problems on the fly and manage logistically complex projects
  • A passion for achieving positive outcomes for our environment. 

The following would be highly regarded:

  • Formal training/qualifications in project management
  • Background in an environmental science discipline (i.e. Natural Resource Management, ecological restoration, Australian flora or fauna ecology).
  • Experience with managing projects in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and/or exposure to NetSuite
  • Experience in GIS software environments (ie ESRI)
