  • Flexible & Purposeful – Part-time role with a values-driven, respectful team

The Business

The Traditional Owners of the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area formed Warddeken Land Management in 2007. Warddeken is an Aboriginal owned, not-for-profit company that combines traditional ecological knowledge with Western science to manage and protect one of Australia’s most unique environments.

Operating from remote homeland communities in west Arnhem Land, we provide employment for hundreds of Indigenous people who engage in vital projects, including fire management, carbon abatement, weed and feral animal control, rock art and ecological conservation, and cultural heritage management.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Administration Support Officer to join our Darwin office part-time (0.6–0.8 FTE). You’ll play a vital role in supporting day-to-day operations across West Arnhem Land by handling administration, logistics, and payroll tasks. As the first point of contact for rangers and remote staff, you'll provide culturally respectful support and help ensure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

About You

You enjoy supporting others, work well in a team, and thrive in a role that keeps things organised and moving. You bring a culturally sensitive and professional approach to engaging with Aboriginal staff and community members, and you’re proud to support work that has real impact on Country and culture.

Your background might include:

  • Experience in administration, logistics, or payroll
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and systems like Xero
  • Strong time management and organisation skills
  • Experience working cross-culturally or in Aboriginal organisations (desirable)
  • A current Ochre Card (or willingness to obtain)

  • Competitive Salary: $70,000 FTE + Super + Salary Sacrifice
  • Additional Benefits: Salary sacrifice options, 6 weeks annual leave, and flexible part-time hours (0.6–0.8 FTE)
  • Flexible Working: Darwin-based role with occasional travel to West Arnhem Land communities
  • Meaningful Impact: Support Aboriginal-led conservation and cultural heritage work across the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area
  • Professional Growth: Work closely with experienced Aboriginal rangers, coordinators, and operational staff in a values-driven team
