Position Title: Wooditjup Bilya Project Manager 0.8 FTE negotiable.

Position Term: July 2025 to December 2028.

Remuneration: The position is being offered at a salary up to $92,057 per annum pro rata with yearly increments depending on experience plus superannuation.

Nature Conservation Margaret River Region (NCMRR) is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit organisation. It works to combine the grassroots support of the regional community with sound conservation science and pragmatic policy initiatives to achieve sustainable environmental outcomes.

Nature Conservation has secured several funding sources to build a strong and long-term project. The project will increase the capacity of NCMRR to coordinate collaborative action in the Wooditjup Bilya (Margaret River) catchment. It will involve a pool research aspect, updating the baseline condition of the main channel of the river in the agricultural catchment, connect and engage the community with the values of the river and undertake on-ground action to improve the condition of riparian areas. A large component of the project is to increase advocacy for the river with the aim to highlight the values and threats to the river.

The primary function of the Project Manager is to coordinate delivery of the project, Protect Wooditjup Bilya, on behalf of NCMRR. The specific responsibilities and duties include:

  • Coordinated collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
  • Research, monitoring and evaluation including collecting baseline data and use of GIS.
  • Community engagement and implementation of behaviour change principles.
  • Coordinate strategic on-ground conservation projects.
  • Advocacy.
  • Reporting and seeking funding.
