Nipapanha Community Aboriginal Corporation (NCAC) currently has a vacancy for a full-time Ranger. As a Ranger, you will help to implement the Working on Country & Nantawarrina IPA Annual Work Plans.

You will be working as part of a team, including other Rangers and the IPA Coordinator. It is required that you be able to work with all team members in a positive way, working together to complete jobs.

  • Infrastructure Working on Country
  • Weed Management – treat & spray weeds under direction
  • Threatened Species Management – participate in Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby trapping & monitoring
  • Plant & Animal Management – carry out bird surveys, plant surveys, revegetation activities, seed collection & propagation
  • Feral Animal Management – camera trapping, set & check cat traps, participate in spotlighting campouts, help with ground baiting activities
  • Visitor Site Management – campground/toilet cleaning, firewood collection, rainwater tank re-fills, collection of visitor permits, construction of visitor/IPA infrastructure
  • Cultural Heritage Management
  • Help with collection of data – use of iPad, use of a GPS (training will be provided for this), photo-monitoring
  • General maintenance – road maintenance/patch up work, fence maintenance, other minor repairs
  • Other tasks as they arise and as directed

Requirements:

  • A Class C manual drivers licence is required, Heavy Duty Vehicle licence highly regarded.
  • White card and any other relevant tickets (such as chainsaw training, weed treatment training, able to drive a tractor and/or excavator, firearms licence) highly regarded.
  • Be able to work well with other team members, and work as a team in a positive way. 
  • Be able to follow Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and work in a safe manner, and be able to follow NCAC’s Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Be willing to participate in training activities, conferences & workshops, and team planning meetings.
  • Have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children & Vulnerable Peoples clearance.
  • Be physically capable to perform on-country works
