Who are we looking for?

Our Environmental Approvals team in Sydney is dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions for major projects, including in renewable energy, transport, water and other various environmental projects.

We are seeking a Technical Director to be the driving force behind the development and continued growth of our team’s capabilities in Environmental Approvals. As a technical leader, you will deliver innovative solutions and high-quality projects for our clients, and help to build a robust, skilled, and motivated team capable of sustaining our long-term success.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

  • Providing technical leadership, client management, and project delivery for complex environmental impact assessment and approvals projects across NSW.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams by designing and coordinating studies and environmental assessments
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with our clients, regulatory agencies and key stakeholders to encourage collaborative engagement to support successful outcomes       
  • Business planning and strategic decision-making, while seeking out new project opportunities, preparing proposals and converting leads into new business.
  • Preparing technical reports, and growing our team’s technical capability through mentoring and technical reviews

What you will bring to the team

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental related studies (such as Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or Urban Planning 
  • Over 15 years of professional experience in a consulting environment.
  • Expertise in setting strategy, design, co-ordination and management of environmental impact assessment studies and regulatory approvals applications
  • Strong knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and planning policy
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects, business development, networking and client relationship management
