We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Bush Regeneration Team, playing a crucial role in preserving and enhancing our natural environments. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about the outdoors, conservation, and have a keen interest in ecological sustainability. Be willing to possibly travel as there will be opportunities to work regionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weed Management: Identify and control invasive weed species using various methods such as hand weeding, chemical control, and other innovative techniques.
  • Habitat Management: Assist in the restoration and maintenance of native habitats, including wetlands, forests, and grasslands.
  • Planting: Participate in the planting of native species, ensuring the right species are planted in appropriate areas to promote biodiversity.
  • Land Management: Work on various aspects of land management, including erosion control, soil stabilisation, and restoration of natural areas.
  • Invasive Species Management: Identify and manage invasive flora and fauna that threaten local ecosystems.
  • Surveying: Conduct environmental and ecological surveys, monitoring plant and animal populations, and assessing habitat conditions.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in community education and engagement activities related to bush regeneration and conservation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for tools and equipment used in bush regeneration tasks.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Keep accurate records of activities, observations, and outcomes related to the regeneration projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members, environmental scientists, and local communities to achieve conservation goals.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
  • Cert III/Diploma in Conservation and Land Management
  • OHS Green/White Card
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of local plant and animal species (preferred).
  • Experience in land management, horticulture, conservation, or a related field (advantageous but not essential).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and follow environmental guidelines and safety protocols.
  • MUST be studying or willing to study in this field of work.
