About the Role

The Natural Resource Management (NRM) Team at Central Tablelands Local Land Services coordinates a range of natural resource management projects focusing on sustainable agriculture, riparian, threatened species, biodiversity and habitat recovery projects, and works across the organisation to deliver key support to our farmers and community. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within Local Land Services, and work within a dynamic team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to take the next step in your NRM career. The job is a mix of office and field base work.  and provides direct support to our Incentives programs, implementing a range of important on ground projects in partnership with our customers.

What you will be responsible for:

• Coordinate a range of engagement activities and project related initiatives on topics such as sustainable agriculture, threatened species, riparian health, native vegetation restoration and grazing management.
• Support senior staff with planning, landholder liaison and implementation of project activities, including on on-ground monitoring and cultural due diligence checks.
• Delivery of front-line services to farmers and community to help them manage our landscapes to be healthy and productive by providing natural resource management and sustainable agriculture information.
• Sound flora and fauna identification skills and knowledge of the legislative and policy framework underpinning natural resource management in NSW
• The ability to perform field work such as inspections and assessments in all conditions and terrains, including in emergency response situations.

What you will need to undertake this role:

• Tertiary qualifications or relevant knowledge and experience in agriculture/environment/natural resource management.
• Sound flora and fauna identification skills would be desirable as well as knowledge of the legislative and policy framework underpinning natural resource management in NSW.
• Excellent communication, coordination and negotiation skills.
• Experience liaising with external stakeholders.
• Reporting and project monitoring experience highly desirable.
