About this opportunity

The RRAP Pilot Deployments Program are seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our team in a key role which supports the delivery of commercial arrangements with external participants in the upcoming RRAP PDP operations.

This role will support existing industry organisations including with tourism operators, marine contractors and others potentially new to the industry. Understanding and managing the risks to AIMS from these external engagements will be an important part of this role. This will be a broad role working on the following:

  • Supporting the planning and contracting of third-party production and deployment suppliers, including monitoring progress and performance of the external participation,.
  • Embedding research requirements into deployment designs and contracts,.
  • Undertaking on-ground supervision of third-party production and deployment suppliers during spawning operations, and.
  • Supporting external parties with knowledge and information to lead to successful outcomes for coral deployment.

About you

To support your success in this role, you will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline. As well as substantial experience in a large complex research planning environment, with proven project delivery capabilities.

You will be a strong communicator who is has exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, coupled with well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Your experience will ensure that you are confident to work independently as well as in a broader team environment. A post-graduate degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline would be highly desirable.
