About the Role

Have you recently completed a degree or are looking to kickstart your career in biodiversity conservation? This an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge while working directly with the community to achieve on-ground conversation outcomes.

As a Project Delivery Officer, you will be the face of Wheatbelt NRM, engaging with landholders and stakeholders to promote biodiversity conservation and connect them with grants and initiatives. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will support key project activities, provide technical advice, and manage lower complexity projects.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, an understanding of project management principles, and a passion for community-driven natural resource management. A solid foundation in biodiversity conservation is essential, and knowledge of the Wheatbelt's agricultural industry would be highly regarded. Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management is a non-profit organisation working in partnership with community, biodiversity, agriculture and government to provide regional leadership and direction for sustainable land use and the conservation of natural resources in the Avon River Basin of Western Australia.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must address the following criteria in a cover note, supported by a resume with 2 referees.

  1. Biodiversity & Industry Knowledge - Relevant tertiary qualifications and skills in biodiversity conservation, with an understanding of the Wheatbelt community and agricultural industry.
  2. Project & Data Management - Strong skills in project management, administration, data collection, analysis, and report writing to support project outcomes.
  3. Communication & Collaboration - Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to present information effectively to various audiences, and work as a proactive team player and problem solver.
  4. Organisation & Technical Skills - Well-organised with strong time management, the ability to meet deadlines, and proficiency in ArcGIS (desirable).

The anticipated start date for this position is 22 April 2025.
