The Midwest Region manages national parks, conservation parks, marine reserves, nature reserves and various other reserves and areas of Unallocated Crown Land. Natural icons of the region include the Pinnacles of Nambung National Park; the biodiversity hotspots of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area and Lesueur National Park; the dolphins of Monkey Mia; the geological wonders of Kalbarri, Mt Augustus and Kennedy Range National Parks; and the marine reserves of Shark Bay and Jurien Bay. The nature of work in the region is wide and varied and covers the Nature Conservation, Parks and Visitor Services and Environmental Regulation areas.

We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Officer to join our team.

Under the direction of the Senior Ranger, you will:

• Be responsible for the development, organisation and implementation of works programs, projects and activities across the Shark Bay Parks in the Gascoyne district with a focus on the Francois Peron National Park, the Dirk Hartog Island National Park, the Edel Land (proposed) National Park, the Nanga (proposed), National Park and the Yaringa Nature Reserve facilitating Malgana Aboriginal Ranger Assistants in park management.
• Supervise, organise and mentor Malgana Aboriginal Ranger Assistants to undertake these works.
