NQ Dry Tropics is seeking an experienced project manager and relationship builder who is passionate about supporting communities across the Burdekin region to strengthen their resilience to climate impacts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects and liaising with universities, climate and industry experts, and agricultural extension staff, to help ensure farmers, Traditional Owners and communities across the Burdekin region can access the most relevant knowledge to help improve drought and climate resilience.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate, deliver and add value to a range of climate resilience projects.
  • Project Management including managing delivery of contractual commitments, operational budgets and reporting progress.
  • Supervision of project officers.
  • Support the extension of drought and climate adaptation strategies.
  • Regularly collaborate with key delivery partners and other teams within NQ Dry Tropics.
  • Proactively identify and help generate communication and education and materials.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or equivalent relevant work experience .
  • Team Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Communication Skills.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving Ability.
