About the role

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Trained Regenerator to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in bush regeneration and a keen eye for plant identification who are eager to contribute to meaningful restoration projects. In an onsite capacity.

Muru Mittigar proudly incorporates traditional Cultural practices into our regenerative efforts wherever possible and appropriate. This includes engaging in Cultural Burns as part of our dedication to Caring for Country.

The position requires a good fitness level and suitability to undertake various heavy work requirements within the role such as brush cutting woody weeds, bending, lifting, standing and working in areas of thick bushland.

The role includes (but not limited to).

  • Brush cutting.
  • Tree planting.
  • Hedging.
  • Gardening.
  • Mowing.
  • Weed removal and control.
  • Herbicide application.
  • Rubbish removal.
  • Seed Collection (when required).
  • Use of small plant and equipment.
  • Watering (when required).
  • Mulching (when required).

The role can be challenging and repetitive but is extremely rewarding in providing ongoing environmental work.

Skills and experience

The following attributes are essential.

  • An interest in the Natural Environment.
  • At least 1-year relevant experience.
  • General construction induction card (white card).
  • AQF3 Chemical Application Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Working with children's check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Class C Driver's License and own transport.
  • A willingness and ability to listen and follow instructions.
  • Applicant would need to be physically fit as heavy lifting is involved.
  • A willingness to undertake a medical assessment.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (CLM) or Conservation and Ecosystem Management (CEM).
