Are you a motivated and experienced Ranger passionate about conservation! Our rangers ensure that the Queensland’s national parks, state forests and reserves are protected, accessible and valued by all Queenslanders. We work in partnership. with local communities and other stakeholders to contribute to the land management, recreational and conservation outcomes across the protected areas.

We currently have openings for two Ranger in Charge roles, located in Samford and Springbrook respectively. These positions are supervisory and simultaneously require a practical, hands-on approach. Candidates will experience a blend of office duties and fieldwork, concentrating on daily operations in natural resource management. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, as well as planning and executing tasks related to fire & pest management, asset maintenance, regulatory compliance.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnership has two exciting opportunities as rangers within South East Queensland Region that will be part of a collaborative team to support the local and regional community in delivering positive outcomes and build solid relationships.

Only mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position is to hold an unrestricted manual driver's license, however the ideal candidate will be a team player, enjoy varied and interesting work - no two days are the same and have:

  • Team management, fire, pest, compliance and asset management skills and experience.
  • Sound understanding of the legislation, policies and procedures governing Queensland parks and forests.
  • Ability to work across a varied work program, responsible for undertaking many different types of physical tasks.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
