NQ Dry Tropics is seeking an experienced Communications Officer for a permanent full time position based in Townsville.

If you are a creative storyteller with a passion for developing and disseminating content on multiple formats and platforms, we want to hear from you.  You will work with Program and Project Managers to develop and implement communications strategies and actions, ensuring NQ Dry Tropics’ work is effectively communicated to key audiences. You will also travel around the region attending events, meeting a variety of stakeholders, and capturing their perspectives.

Requirements

• Excellent writer and storyteller experienced at identifying communications opportunities, developing materials, disseminating them across a variety of platforms, and reporting on achievements.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to gather story content by interviewing a variety of stakeholders, including graziers, cane farmers, Traditional Owners and community group members. Relationship building and respectful engagement are key to this role. 
• Self-starter able to work quickly under pressure, prioritise effectively, and problem solve to deliver on a brief. 
• Ability to competently photograph people and landscapes in a variety of settings, including at workshops, field days, forums and site visits.
