We have an opportunity for an Environmental Consultant/Experienced Field Technician with practical skills in environmental monitoring and project management to join a private, boutique environmental consultancy based in Queensland.

We are growing very quickly, and need a good enviro with experience to help in this growth process.

Much of our work is conducted on mining and industrial sites, so previous experience in a resources industry role would be very helpful. Expertise with groundwater and surface water would be a great advantage. Over many years, we have developed particular expertise in groundwater and surface water sampling, so practical field experience is very important.

The role will involve field work as well as managing your own projects. You will also use your experience to mentor other team members.

What you will bring to the role

• Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or equivalent
• Proven, hands-on environmental monitoring, assessment and reporting skills.
• A solid working knowledge of environmental planning, approvals and management
• Clear and concise written communication and report writing skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Eligibility for Membership of EIANZ or other relevant professional membership body
• Experience in compiling successful tenders and quotes
• Ability to be mobile, as some projects will require overnight stays of up to a week
• Excellent planning and time management skills
• Experience in managing environmental data
• A great sense of humour
