About the role

We are seeking an experienced environmental professional to be based in our Brisbane office. Key accountabilities of the role are:

  • manage, prepare and provide expert advice on environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, environmental management systems, and auditing and compliance
  • engage with client and stakeholders to understand project requirements and solve environmental challenges
  • develop and lead project scopes of work, objectives, schedules and budgets
  • manage project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and comply with regulatory requirements
  • conduct quality reviews and drive high-quality standards
  • foster effective communication and teamwork across the business
  • mentor and provide guidance to junior consultants
  • stay up to date with emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in the environmental consulting field
  • build and maintain strong client relationships
  • identify and pursue business development opportunities and prepare fee proposals and tender submissions
  • exemplify the company’s values 

About You - Skills and experience

You will:

  • hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, planning or other relevant subject
  • have 5+ years’ experience in environmental management
  • offer expertise in one or more of the disciplines identified above in ‘About Onward Consulting’
  • be proficient in project, time, and team management
  • have experience in managing successful client relationships
  • ideally have expertise in Queensland’s environmental regulatory framework
