Job Description

We are looking for a proven Environmental Scientist or Engineer that is a motivated, self-starter to join our Environment Business in Darwin and play a key role in supporting a vast array of interesting and diverse projects across defence, government, mining and the oil and gas sectors.

The AECOM Darwin office is a perfect location to foster your passion for managing the environment, and can provide experience in everything from biodiversity surveys, contaminated site investigation and remediation, environmental impact assessment and environmental management and auditing, hydrology and hydrogeology, sediment, and erosion control, monitoring of rivers and streams, wastewaters and groundwaters. You will be provided a range of opportunities to develop and diversify your skills as an environmental scientist/engineer, with project field work available in interesting and remote locations of the Northern Territory and Australia.

Working on a diverse range of projects and as part of a close-knit, regional team, you will be given the opportunity to develop, shape and drive your career working for an international consultancy, whilst working in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

What will a day in this role look like:

• You will primarily assist with fieldwork and reporting aspects of multiple concurrent contamination investigations and remediation projects of varying size and complexity.
• Work amongst a team of peers and alongside our clients and subcontractors, while learning first-hand from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders.
• You will be involved in a range of environmental projects and site investigations, including the preparation of field plans, implement AECOMs Safety, Health and Environment Policies and Quality Control Policies.
• You will contribute to a range of projects sizes with opportunities to develop project management skills and will play an active role in project delivery and client management.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

• Experience in preliminary and detailed site investigations for soil, vapour, and/or groundwater.
• The role requires good communication skills and the ability to deliver technical excellence, as well as being able to comply with AECOM Safety, Health and Environment Policies.
• Experience in data management software (ESDAT / Equis), preparation of environmental reports and with Microsoft Office packages such as Word & Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, or earth science.
• Current Class C drivers' licence.

It is a requirement that candidates are Australian Citizens and eligible for, or in possession of, an Australian Government security clearance of baseline or higher.
