Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist to join our team as a part-time staff member. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, and management of our horticultural projects. Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement horticultural projects, including planting schemes, and maintenance plans.
- Manage and maintain the health and appearance of a diverse range of plants, trees, shrubs, and gardens.
- Perform regular inspections to identify and address plant health issues, pests, diseases, and irrigation requirements.
- Hedging, Mowing and other heavy lifting required.
- Coordinate and oversee the procurement of plants, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure that all horticultural work complies with safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute projects.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in horticulture.
- Maintain detailed records of plant care, expenses, and project progress.
Qualifications:
- Studies in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in horticulture.
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, landscaping, and sustainable horticultural practices.
- Proven ability to design and maintain aesthetically pleasing landscapes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team.
- Proficiency in horticultural tools and equipment operation.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to plant health and landscape aesthetics.
- Physical fitness to perform the duties of the role, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
