Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist to join our team as a part-time staff member. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, and management of our horticultural projects. Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement horticultural projects, including planting schemes, and maintenance plans.
  • Manage and maintain the health and appearance of a diverse range of plants, trees, shrubs, and gardens.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify and address plant health issues, pests, diseases, and irrigation requirements.
  • Hedging, Mowing and other heavy lifting required.
  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement of plants, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure that all horticultural work complies with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in horticulture.
  • Maintain detailed records of plant care, expenses, and project progress.

Qualifications:

  • Studies in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in horticulture.
  • Strong knowledge of plant biology, landscaping, and sustainable horticultural practices.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain aesthetically pleasing landscapes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in horticultural tools and equipment operation.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to plant health and landscape aesthetics.
  • Physical fitness to perform the duties of the role, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
