Established in 2016, Wild Environmental employs over 20 multi-disciplinary environmental professionals, working across industries such as water infrastructure, transportation, aquaculture, mining, tourism, and local government. Our teams comprise of specialist terrestrial and aquatic ecologists, water quality scientists, contaminated land practitioners, and environmental scientists and planners. The Role

Our team is looking for an environmental consultant to join our fast-growing company to be located in either Townsville, Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast. The successful candidate will enjoy working on a diverse array of projects, providing environmental services throughout Queensland to the aquaculture, mining, renewables, government, transport and built infrastructure sectors.

We're looking for someone who thrives on the planning and delivery of projects for clients who need environmental approvals. This newly created role would suit an Environmental Scientist with previous consulting or regulatory experience and proven professional technical writing ability. The purpose of this role is to undertake environmental impact assessments, approvals, development applications, report authorship and to coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams for various projects across industries throughout Queensland You may also enjoy undertaking environmental monitoring programs. You will be required to collaborate with environmental practitioners across all of our locations.

The role requires you to:

  • Be familiar with both Queensland and Commonwealth environmental planning legislation.
  • Be confident in managing projects with multiple moving parts.
  • Be adept at dealing with regulatory agencies.
  • Be able to clearly communicate complex approval matters to clients and other stakeholders.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and managing environmental monitoring programs .
  • Conducting environmental site investigations, assessments and surveys to sample, measure and analyse air, surface waters, ground waters and soil .
  • Producing high-quality professional reports and deliverables.
  • Providing input to environmental tasks including development of environmental impact assessments, environmental approval applications, EMPs, and other environmental studies and management plans.
  • Develop environmental solutions in collaboration with other internal/external professionals.
  • Contribute to proposals and secure new work.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in environmental science or environmental planning.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Proven capability in professional technical writing in a consulting environment.
  • Enthusiasm to support the pursuit of new work opportunities through business development activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
