Nindethana - wholly owned by Greening Australia, has been supplying high quality native seed to clients across Australia and overseas for over 50 years. As one of Australia's largest and most established seed merchants, we have a diverse range of customers from the home gardener to the multi-national company. The majority of our seed is used for environmental restoration projects, where biodiversity and quality is paramount. Nindethana delivers a range of seed related services which can be customised to accommodate individual customer requirements.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Seed Officer to join the team. This role will be responsible for customer support and sales as well as order administration, processing and inventory management.

Key Position Accountabilities

Key areas of accountability and outcomes include:

• Assist with the scoping and delivery of customer orders:
• Species selection.
• Problem solving and advice.
• Stock selection, quoting and re-ordering.
• Seed pre-treatments, cleaning, testing.
• Order packaging, dispatch and invoicing.
• Contribute to applying quality control processes with all seed stock.
• Contribute to data and record keeping within inventory system.
• Assist with maintaining up to date species information on website.

Key Selection Criteria

• Experience in native seed, nursery, ecology or similar.
• 2-5 years' relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of the technical aspects of the role.
• Demonstrated high competency in oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow processes.
• High standard of knowledge of ITC systems.

Desirable Criteria

• Diploma level or higher qualifications in horticulture, or conservation and land management, or bush regeneration.
• Experience with native vegetation management and revegetation.
• Technical knowledge of native plant propagation.
• Technical knowledge of seed cleaning, processing and storage.
