Grazing Field Officer

Townsville or Bowen

You will support graziers in the Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM region to adopt grazing practices that improve land condition and enhance the quality of water discharged to the Great Barrier Reef.

In this role, you will work closely with a highly-experienced team of extension staff, soil conservation officers and GIS specialists to improve grazing management practices and water quality. You will work closely with graziers to implement these plans, manage incentives that support water quality practice change, and co-deliver targeted training and education to address barriers to the adoption of improved land management practices.


  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to support the adoption of improved grazing land management practices.
  • Experience and/or technical skills/knowledge of sustainable grazing practices.
  • High-level organisational skills, including the ability to organize and prioritise work activities in a demanding, busy environment, including demonstrated attention to detail.
